Screen 13 Detroit Dateline – 10-13-67- Special Report: The Eyes Have It!

A brief trip to the Studio Arthouses on 10-13-67 offers up a couple of “Eye”-catching ads. A decade before the theaters were known as Porno houses until their passing in 1982, the Studio chain was known for showcasing the most in-demand films of the serious set and picking many classics. Diabolique was Henri-Georges Clouzot’s suspenseful classic that got a re-issue and a highly applauded run while Privilege was Peter Watkins’ extraordinary film which was set in an “Britain in the near future” that served as both a classic film and a very accurate warning with performances by Paul Jones which must have been influential to a number of singers through the years.

The eyes of both Vera Clouzot and Paul Jones seriously stand out in these medium sized ads for these great films.
