Merry Christmas From the Scene of Screen 13!!!
From the 12/23/78 Detroit papers, this US release of The Satanic Rites of Dracula, one of the more interesting 70’s Hammer films, was promoted in The D with a amusing campaign to all Horror fans in the area with two Drive Ins actually staying open for the celebrations.
The film was released in The US through Dynamite Entertainment, the same one who picked up The Legend of the Seven Golden Dragons (which was rated by Cannon/Happy and then announced by AIP before it’s small Distribution fate) and the infamous film by Doris WIshman called Let Me Die a Woman which was making some rounds through The US early in 1979. Max Rosenberg, who’s Amicus Productions was soon to close shop with the release of The Monster Club, was it’s President (Wishman was his cousin!)
The B in this case was The great Werewolf Vs. The Vampire Woman.
