1979 Detroit showing of Black Heat at the Palms

Noted by Al Adamson fans as a cool entry in his filmography, Black Heat was an example of how Independent International exploited a film for all it’s worth as it was the Urban mix of a film that was called Girl’s Motel which played elsewhere. This was also an example of how much the company traveled their films through the Grindhouse Years as this was a 1976 film (aka the Murder Gang) playing in 1979, with this ad from the Sept. 21, 1979 Detroit News.

It’s star, Timothy Brown, was in Adamson’s The Dynamite Brothers as well as Robert Altman’s Nashville, a fact that is hyped up here.
