The Black Samurai playing the Grand Circus, Jan. 1977
From the Detroit News, 1/14/77 on it’s 4’th week!
UPDATE: Jim Kelly passed away on 6/29/13. RIP.
Kind of surprising that Al Adamson’s OK but still watchable Martial Arts flick would actually last more than two, but then again it’s co-feature was Duel of the Iron Fist originally presented in The US through the Boston-based United International Pictures (UIP), so that could explain a lot. Still, The Black Samurai has some charm to it in seeing the star of Black Belt Jones – the film that gained Jim Kelly his marquee value as seen in this ad – being Directed by Adamson who was best with films featuring Bikers among the main characters (Satan’s Sadists). It’s like a better TV movie, and it does have some nice action to it although the co-feature gave the headliner a punch of death so to say.
This Kelly/Adamson film was Distributed in The US through Trans National.
Another Post Black Belt Jones film, The Tattoo Connection, released in the US through World Northal, is highly recommended!
The error is corrected, enjoy!
