“Otto! Let the Ritual Begin!” – Cosplay Fans, take note of this scene in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls clip

Another top pick scene from Beyond the Valley of the Dolls showing the dark humor and style that was a perfect reflection of when things go too over the top (like in real life at the time). Featuring a classic performance from John LaZar as the manic Teen Tycoon producer Ronnie “Z-Man” Barzell.

The party is kind of like the precursor to the recent rage of Cosplay, especially when you look at Roxanne (Erica Gavin) and Casey (Cynthia Meyers) in Batman and Robin-style getup!

Henry Rowland, a legendary Actor who played Nazis on occasion through his career, is Z-Man’s butler Otto, a character who was questioned to be “An end to Martin Bormann?” at the end.

For some irony in film history, the Sex Pistols film The Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle had a Bormann character played by James Jeter in the scenes with Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Ronnie Biggs in Rio. The film Written and Directed by Julian Temple was originally to be Who Killed Bambi? Directed by Russ Meyer and written by Roger Ebert.
